Make Your Home Page Personal

When you open your browser, what's the first thing you see? A bunch of celebrity gossip headlines? A long list of links to things you don't really care about? Your first look at the Internet doesn't have to be this way. Setting up a personalized home page can bring the online content you're looking for front and center.

Your Internet Service Provider usually sets a home page by default, but you can use pretty much any service (Google™, Yahoo!®, AOL®) for your home page. As an example, let's look at Yahoo! to show you how to start. Go to www.my.yahoo.com and click on the "My Yahoo!" button. Follow the instructions to set up your free Yahoo! ID (a free account). Once you finish the account setup, you'll see a new My Yahoo! page. Now you're ready to make it personal.

Every box of content on the new page is optional. You can add more boxes (modules) to see the content you want, and close the boxes that show things you don't need. You also can reshuffle the boxes and change the look to match your style anytime. Finally, click the "Make My Yahoo! your home page" link at the top of the page to make your personal page the first thing you see when you browse the Internet.
Wiki
